I got the car fixed. Turns out one the axles came loose Only 2 bolts without nuts were there when I took off the drum. Nice easy fix. Sat parked for a couple of weeks with such a small problem. Now time to start setting up the air suspension. Will post pics.

Sorry I haven't posted lately, work has had me out of the country most of the summer. I still don't have it bagged. I was trying to figure how to set them up with the 6 volt system. i had already purchased a manual controller. I finally decided to change it over to 12 volts and eliminate the problem. I installed a one wire 12 volt alternator, bulbs, coil, solenoid, and drop down resistors for the meters and heater motor. It starts like a champ and is running better than ever. I had a bog problem at higher rpms. thought it was the fuel system (I rebuilt the carb and fuel pump). I was more of a weak spark problem. any ways I do have some under hood pictures I took.

And here is a little something I am going to install soon.

I would keep them as well. The chebby guys like them so much that an aftermarket copy is available for chebby small blocks to make them look like Olds engines. Highest form of compliment.

Awesome, I started looking for dates on the posts and started to wonder if you might have sold it or what. Under the hood looks really good! Im glad to see you car from start to "finish". it gives me hope and sight for mine. Thanks for posting!

It's a Rochester side draft. As you can see the air intake kind of sucks (or doesn't depend on how you look at it). The original oil bath air cleaner was around 4' wide. So you would get air from both sides of the engine. Well mine was long gone when I got the car. I will still hold on to the original setup.

Nice job!
Beautiful job on the 98. I am currently in the middle of restoring my 50, 98 (same as yours) for the fourth time in 35 years. Looking through your progress photos has revived my enthusiasm to finish mine up. I would love to see more photos!

Haven't got the bags on yet (too much work travel. Spain, and Malaysia in the last few months. While I was in Spain in Feb/Mar some *** popped a hole in my gas tank to steal gas.
Here is a video after I got it fixed. Sorry It's just the link, couldn't get the embedding to work.
