Lokar makes a throttle assembly for a Chevelle that fits but doesn't have a kick down switch. If you buy me one you can have my old one

I know just what you're talking about. TripDeuces is right. It's not a kickdown cable. It's an electric switch that is part of the throttle linkage. I looked all over, and these are not made new by anybody.

I needed one about two weeks ago for my '67 Delta 88. There were two versions of it, a square one made by Littlefuse and a round one made by Delco. Either one will work. Both have the same mounting holes, throttle linkage components, and electrical pin connectors. There were just two different suppliers back in the day.

The same switch was used on ALL '67 Oldsmobiles with automatic transmissions except for the Toronado. Doesn't matter if the car had the 2-speed Jetaway or 3-speed THD. I think this same switch was also used on '66 and '65 Oldsmobiles as well. '68 and later was altogether different.

The car will not move without this switch, because, as you note, this is an integral part of the throttle linkage.

I bought an NOS piece for $95 from www.nospartsfromthepast.com. The fellow that runs the site was VERY helpful and responded and shipped quickly. Yes, the price was a bit high, but if you need one of these, you need one. And this piece was not taken off another car. It was new in the 1967 box. What you see in the photos is the actual piece I received.

He had TWO of these at the time I contacted him, and I'll bet he still has the other one.

According to the 66-67 Olds parts book,66 & 67 switches are the same. The part # is 1993355 and 355 is the # on my used unit. I have no idea about the one pictured above and that # does not show up in my parts book for any 66 or 67 application. It could be a unit that had a superseded part #,not sure though.

I believe the same part is used for an St300 or 400. The 65 setup was different!
