I had a 3,73 in my 8.2 axle.
to high for cruzing, but good acceleration.
you get 3000 rev/min at 60mph. replaced it with a 3,23 -feel better with 2400 at 60mph.
did not loose on accelearation with a 455 , but a more pleasant drive on a highway.

I have the 3.73 gears in my 1970 442 clone.
I swapped out the fake Olds 12 bolt for a real 12 bolt with an Eaton posi and 3.73's.
How does it feel ?? This is kinda a subjective question.....
I have Nitto 555R's on my car which are drag radials.....they hook, and don't spin much.
With the Olds TH350 1:1 final gear ratio it felt fine, but you're going to notice it alot more
on the freeway because you will be revving alot higher at 70mph......which just kills MPG.
I like to speed and I usually stayed close to 60mph because of that......
I chose the 3.73's because.....
I'm also putting a T-56 6 speed in with 2 overdrive gears, the last one being a .50 final gear ratio.
This way I can do 65mph @ ~1500rpm......instead of 3500rpm.
