gas Cap 70 442

gas Cap 70 442

Should it be vented or non vented mine is non and pressure builds up on hot days when I take off cap seems dangerous I live at 7000 ft if that matters

The tank should be vented at the front right corner, and the cap should be 'non vented'.

If you have a California car with the closed system, you won't have the vent tube that extends upwards from the passenger side corner of the gas tank. You'll have to crawl under the car to check that. If you have the non vented system, you should have three hoses coming from the back of the gas tank into a vapor separator and a return line from the tank to the charcoal canister on the passenger side under the hood. Maybe this has been removed? Maybe capped off in some way?
