How do I find out how many made
I have seen various ads to sell Olds 442 W-30s but the numbers they give vary. I need to sell my late fathers 1971 Olds 442 W-30 Viking Blue with Blue Interior, Coupe. All original. that has been in storage for 25 years so my Mom has enough money to be able to keep her house. I haven't a clue how to go about it or where to find out average price to ask, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

1st thing is to evaluate condition and gather any documentation to verify it is a REAL W car and not a made up one. All correct W30 parts must be there for maximum value. Concrete documentation like build sheet/broadcast card or window sticker goes a long way for value. If all is good the car may bring big bucks. Hard to pinpoint exactly what that number will be as condition and documentation is everything.

1971, 442, W30, Convertible production = a total of 110. Of that 110, 32 were 4 speeds and 78 were automatics.
For Hardtops the production total was 810. Of that 247 were 4 speeds and 563 were Autos).
920 total W30s so not many at all. As stated condition, correct parts and rock solid documentation will dictate value.
Have it appraised by someone well versed in this area not an antique furniture appraiser.
If you don’t want to go through the hassle of documenting and gathering the part numbers off various important W30 stuff etc…pay someone who will. You need to advertise this car so you should know what it is and what it isn’t in order to not mislead. The knowledge will help you and the buyer.

This site might give you some idea of value.

Looks like it's worth something in the $25,000 to $35,000 range, depending on the particulars of the car and its actual condition.

Have all paperwork
My parents were the only owners. Stripes were white, RAM air hood scoops. Mom said Dad changed the valve covers to Edelbrock the original valve covers are in a box along with window sticker, title, purchase order, original license plates. Mileage is 35,8XX. The W-30 is documented on the window sticker. It is automatic, 8 track tape player. It was driven in the winter the first year and rusted so that was repaired on the passenger side front fender but that cracked so will need to be fixed. I saw one dime sized spot of rust near the passenger rear window when I was getting in to check mileage. Up until the last 10 years when he was no longer physically able dad pulled the car out, polished the engine, changed belts, etc and put it back in the garage and covered it.
