How many ?
I know this is an old thread and I asked the same question in another thread but there seems to be so much knowledge on here! I hope someone can help.
I have a #s matching 69 442 with Ac/Auto.
I am hoping to find production numbers but have been told they don't exist..I'm hoping they do somewhere..,.
Thanks in advance

Word of advice. Resurrecting an ancient thread with a title of "1972 442" and asking a question about a 1969 is not the best way to get a useful answer. Here's your own thread. The answer will still be the same. Asking the same question over and over isn't going to change that.

There are no production numbers for these cars with a breakdown of the various options. Those records don't exist. There are prodction numbers for the number of 442's built in '69, and a breakdown of the transmissions and body styles, but that's it.

This isn't quite right. Some people have been doing research and have compiled some of these breakdowns.
Thank you for that. I'm certain now that Olds kept no records of that....im hoping someones research can help....or maybe the build sheet!
Thanks guys

Apparently GM historical services has some paper records. You need to physically go there and mine the data. They info is not easy to access nor is it configured for rapid search. You can't just walk in. The data I've seen typically only goes through June of the model year, so it isn't 100% complete. I'm still struggling with why people are so hot to have this info. Apparently this is all about being able to make "one of X" claims. I guess if that lets you feel better about yourself, have at it. I'd rather drive the car.

Not really. There's the right answer, and the wrong answer. You have received the right answer.

That's were I found the build sheet on a Fremont car. Of course, the build sheet doesn't answer the OP's question about how many were made.
