Swapping wheels - will they fit?

Looking to switch to a set of 15 X 7 Olds Rallyes from a 86 442. MY 72 has front discs. I didn't think there would be a clearance problem but after reading another thread, now I'm wondering. Anybody see a problem with this setup? Would love to see some pics of these wheels on an A Body.

Should be a bolt on. I'm pretty sure the '86 would have had front disc brakes. I have seen this swap many times before.

Once again, ALL Super Stock II/III wheels clear factory disc brakes. That goes for all sizes (14x6, 14x7, and 15x7) and both centers (bolt on and snap on).

Joe, I know that you are pretty knowledgeable when it comes to Olds, so rather than disagreeing with you I will state my experience. Back in 1978 I had a '73 Cutlass Supreme with front disc brakes and the standard full hubcaps. I decided that I wanted the SSII's on this car, so I picked up a set of 14 x 7's from a local junk yard with the bolt on center caps. After painting and installing new tires, I put them on the car, only to find out that the front wheels were rubbing on the calipers, so I had to modify the calipers to fit. It's been a couple of decades, but as I recall, I took a metal rasp to the calipers where it was rubbing to get the clearance I needed.

The 14x7 SSII/III wheels were factory offered on the 1973 Cutlii, and cleared the factory discs, so I don't know what to tell you. The center part of the wheel is the same stamping on both diameter wheels - the difference is in the outer rim. As a result, there is virtually no additional clearance with the 15" SSII/III wheels over the 14".
