IMO, ditch the Torker, wrong manifold for the "RV" cam and small valve heads. Buy a used Performer somewhere along with a Holley or Edelbrock carb with about 750cfm.

agreed on the torker. you need to be able to spin the motor up pretty good to make it work and the cam is going to want to work in the low rpm. put the word out and you may find someone that wants to swap for a performer.

Ok on the Torker, but neither the Holley, nor the Edelbrock carburetors can compare to the Q-jet.
The Q-jet will always have a 2mpg advantage over these other carbs, and will only be down on power to an 850 Holley-only because of sheer size.
BTW, part throttle response will be better with a Q-jet.
The only way to improve over a Q-jet is with fuel injection-ask Mark about the cost involved there.

Q-jet is fine too, just forgot to mention it.

Multiport EFI runs about $3500.00 for a big block, about $2500.00 for a throttle body.

But I have it on mine, wouldn't trade it for anything, JMO.

My Torker worked just fine on a 8.1 smog motor running low 13s USE IT..........I would say a 750 vacum holley or maybe a 650DP I think a 750DP holley might be a tad much,I have never had good luck with Qjets mostly becauce there all wore to shyt by the time I got them and every machine or performance shop has Holley parts.......Jerr
