Advise installing reproduction plastic inner fenders
70 442 just stripped to metal and restored, Has reproduction metal fenders.
I bought the red reproduction from The Parts Place also. I moved and left the old broken ones behind. Car has been stripped to metal and restored and painted. I'm trying to install the reproduction fenders and cant get them to fit? I don't recall how the clips went on all the photos show the metal clips slid over the plastic inner fenders but it seems to me they should go on the metal tabs on the steel fenders? Any advice or photos would be appreciated. I'm really fighting these plastic fenders and cant get them to fit. Anyone have pictures of what they look lik installed so I can see how the plastic lines up with the steel fenders and the frame? Any help would be appreciated, new to the forum.

Thank you Joe. Just to clarify... The plastic fender sits on the lip of the steel fender behind the steel tabs and the bolt goes through the steel tab then into the plastic fender with the J-nuts to secure it? The metal tabs will not show once the bolts are in? Thank you for the help here I dismantled this two years ago and cant remember how it was connected.

The metal tabs on the fender are visible over the plastic inner fender when you look inside the fender well. The plastic inner fender goes "behind" the tabs when viewed from the tire. Similarly, the "tire cam" will see the heads of the bolts.
