Bonding the hood frame to the hood sheet metal
Some of the areas on my hood have let go from the factory glob of whatever bonding agent they used.... From what I've read 3M NVH is what I need to be using. There seems to be a few different kinds, what is the difference between dampening material, Flexible foam and pillar foam. And which do I need to bond the areas back? Also, do I need to try to remove the old or should I just fill in the gap where the original let go? Definitely don't want a wavy hood. Any advice or Tricks to keep the hood nice and smooth would be greatly appreciated

I've had good results with a product called Sikaflex 252. It bonds well to many substrates (including metal), has good adhesion and is flexible enough to resist breaking when subjected to vibration and lateral loading.
