CustomChrome Plating - Grafton, Ohio
Anyone ever CustomChrome, particularly for bumpers? Had planned to use Tri-City, but I can save the shipping costs if I go CustomChrome. They may, however, be pricey.

Tri-City's price to re-chrome a '66 bumper is $450.

I had my 66 Cutlass front bumper done there. They did a good job. And it was not cheap. The bumper is great, the best quality I have ever had, but I paid for that, dearly. If it seems like I am skirting around telling the price,,,,I am. I am not proud of paying that much money for rechroming a bumper. The call is free, ask them for an estimate.
I have also had bumpers done at TriCity in Elizabethton TN. The bumpers looked good. But not as good as Custom Chrome.
I have also used North Star Plating. North Star is owned by Keystone, the same company that sells aftermarket body parts to most of the country. Keystone has been buying up all the salvage yards they can and sell used parts also. They have a huge fleet of trucks and deliver their own parts, at least they do where I live in Ironton OH 45638. If Keystone comes to a body shop or paint supply store near you, you can send your bumpers to Brainard MN to North Star Plating by their intercompany trucks FREE. No shipping charges, under certain conditions, partly depending on your location. That might be worth checking on as North Star is as good as TriCity.
There are plenty of other places, all of them charge about the same. Better quaility costs more.
One thing I will say from experience,"STAY AWAY FROM THE BUMPER BOYZ".

I'm near Grafton, Ohio about once a month, and I figured shipping from Pittsburgh to Tennessee at about $75/bumper each way, so $300 total.
Regardless, unless CustomChrome is less expensive than I anticipate, I'll be using Tri-City. With them, I can pick up the finished bumper at Spring Carlisle. (Tri-City's current turnaround time is three weeks.)

CustomChrome Plating's rough estimate to do one '66 bumper in their "Better" Grade is $2000.
