Firewall seam sealer question

I was cleaning up the firewall and the cowl area and noticed there seems to be two types of seam sealer used in that area. There is the familiar black plastic like seam sealer in most of the spots, but there is some that looks like body filler (mainly up near the corner of the windshield) it has factory paint on top of it so I know its not a repair.

Is there any differences I should be aware of? I was planning on using regular seam sealer in all those spots.

Thanks
Tim

You should be fine. Some of the larger gaps in areas they used a product called dum dum - sort of like a plumbers putty. You can still buy that stuff - it's a rope caulk sold by aftermarket vendors.
