Hmmm. Maybe you could let us know what year and vehicle you are working on?

On my latest restoration, I installed both grills into the stone shield , installed the stone shield onto the front core support area of the car. Then installed the headlight backing plates. Next installed the bumper and then the headlight bezels once I aimed the headlights. Hope that helps!

I found that the bumper has to be dropped a little to get the headlight housing in the 72. The 71 might be easier.

My experience is it's fairly much the same for 1970, 1971, and 1972. I never had to move the bumper to remove / install the headlight bezels. Maybe we are not referring to the same part when saying "bezel"?

Are you talking about the black bezel around both of the headlights or the trim piece that's behind that? The black headlight trim bezel is easily removed to service the headlights for aiming and replacement. The trim right behind it....does tuck behind the bumper a bit and should be installed before the bumper.

Thanks lol, and if I remember one of the bolts to drop the bumper is in frame, kinda makes it a pain.

I left the ( loosened) bumper bolts in the rear most position in and removed the rest of them, after making sure wires to turn signals wouldn't get caught I let bumper hinge on those bolts, you still will need another person but makes it easier than completely removing heavy bumper. Good luck!!

Have anyone of you guys welded the nut to the inside of the frame, that might be an idea for dropping the bumper by yourself lol

I have not welded mine. I was able to install mine on fresh paint by just being super careful and using my floor jack. I always have plenty of tape applied around the painted areas to ensure something doesn't slip and cause damage.
