1952 Olds 98 Holiday Deluxe Coupe - $16,500
For Sale or Trade for 60's two door GM car. Would prefer to trade. Especially interested in Impala, Impala SS, Lemans, GTO, Cutlass, 442. This car is from Texas originally and was brought to Minnesota about 8 years ago in pieces and reassembled. It IS NOT a frame off restoration. If you want to buy this car outright, the price is fairly firm. If you have a car to trade, I can be more flexible on the value depending on what it is you have.
Shipping: If you're buying outright, arrangements and costs are your responsiblity
Location: Twin Cities, Minnesota (in a suburb north of St. Paul)
Details:
Original 303 Rocket V8 and hydramatic. Had a valve job with hardened seats just prior to my buying this car 5 years ago.
Hydraulic/Electric windows and front seat
New wiring harness and converted to 12v
Tank was removed, cleaned and lined by previous owner.
Brake/gas/hydraulic lines done by previous owner, so I don't know how long ago, but within the last 8 years.
Bodywork is done and car is "very" straight and rust free.
New 1970 dark green enamel paint over epoxy primer in Oct 09.
Paint still needs to be color sanded to have a glass finish, but looks good as is. It's driver quality, not show quality.
Frame is scaley, but is solid as a rock (not a restored car)
Interior is decent. Currently has tan seat covers/headliner.
Idler arm assembly recently replaced with new.
Welded dual exhaust/Cherry Bomb mufflers
Lowered with 2 inch lowering blocks rear
Newer Coker Wide Whites
All the glass is very good. Passenger side rear is slightly delaminating at the bottom. All EZ-Eye
Still needs window rubber kit and the driver side power window cylinder should be replaced because it leaks bad the first time it's used in the spring.
Heater is not installed, but I have many of the parts and parts are available through fusick.com. Headlight rings are dented, but replacements are out there or if you're into it, restore these. Bumpers are driver quality and have very minor scratches and dings.
Going with this car:
20 feet of trunk lid seal
New king pin set
All the usable parts that came with this car when I got it
Assembly/repairs manual
Owners manual
Currently the car is a mild custom and has been nosed, decked, shaved (except door handles), and the rear plate was frenched into the trunk lid. I still have 99% of the original SST trim. Tail lights are 59 Cadillac transitioned with 54 Pontiac bezels.
I've owned 5 years and only have room for one hobby car at a time. I'm ready to change cars again. This isn't a "perfect" car, but is a very nice one and a blast to drive. Gets lots of comments from people. There just aren't any of this model around (do a search). They only made about 14,000 in the first place due to the U.S. being involved in the Korean Conflict in 1952. It's become a rare one to find.
