1968 Oldsmobile 442 (Canadian Built)
Hi all,
Looks like I'll be going through a lot of major life changes so I figured I would test the waters on maybe passing on my 68 442 to another owner.
Some of you may recognize this car as one that was saved by another member of these messages boards. There is a nice, detailed thread about it on this site and it goes over the restoration of it.
This car is a great driver quality car and I have done nothing but enjoyed it. If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me about it.
Location: Olathe, KS
Price: Not really for sale anymore. I still own it PM if truly interested.
Description:
I am looking to sell my 1968 Oldsmobile 442. This car was Canadian built and spend almost all its life in Canada until I bought it about 2 years ago. Oldsmobile fans will know that the GM plant in Canada kept records of all the options that came with the cars out of the factory and that information can (and already has) been pulled for this car and is listed below.
The previous owner saved this car about 4 years ago from rusting away and did everything. I've just had to change a couple fluids and enjoy it.

This car was in rough shape when the previous owner bought it. He spent about a year completing fixing the rust (except the under hood frame) followed by a new paint job. The engine in it now is a rebuilt 455 with unknown specs. The original 400 blew a piston in 1972(ish) and was replaced by the factory. The replacement 400 did not have a serial number etched into it so retaining it did not seem worth it. The rear fenders were replaced along with the trunk floor plans. The front disc breaks were rebuilt along with the 4bbl carb. The seat covers were replaced with brand new ones along with the bumpers. The has a TH400 automatic transmission and 3.08 gear ratio. New Magnaflow exhaust.

I know I definitely need to tweak that front bumper. I know the PO had issues getting it to fit right as well. Got any hints? Maybe I'll have time this weekend to pop it off and see if anything catches my eye.

Luckily it came with the car for me. I know you can find the order form from the GM Heritage club. I tried looking for the link but the search function wasn't too helpful. I know someone here probably has it and can maybe post it.

My 68 442 was built in Canada and finish Date January 10th 1968. Out of 444 68 442 post coupes made in Canada, my car is the only one built with a 3 speed manual. Very cool car. Can you PM me the last of the VIN? I`m curious how close my car is to this one.
