1972 Cutlass Supreme Conv/442 Tribute; Attleboro MA
SOLD!!! Have had this car for about 8 years, but with a kid in college it’s time to let someone else enjoy it. Can run it as-is, or could be a good platform for restoration. A previous owner made it up to look like a 442 W-30, but it has the Rocket 350 and TH350 tranny. Runs and drives good, but it’s not going to snap your neck. More cruiser than bruiser. Engine is matching numbers, not sure about the tranny. Approx 118k miles.
Have just been putting it at the end of the driveway with a FS sign for the last few weeks. Just dawned on me today that I could list it here too. Can reach me (John) at 401-824-9596, but it's a work cell so best to text me first.
$21,000 obro
Work that’s been done since I got it:
1. New tires and trim rings (8 years ago)
2. New water pump and radiator hoses (7 years ago)
3. New top, motor/pump, and pistons (2 years ago; top by Tkacs in East Prov RI)
4. Rebuilt rear drum brakes
5. New plugs, plug wires, and points
6. New headlights
7. Front end work; ball joints and idler arm (2 years ago)
8. New battery and voltage regulator (last year)
9. Frame was just repaired/painted/sealed last week (they also refurbed the gas tank and sorted some exhaust pipe issues), EDIT: A potential buyer had brought it to his mechanic and we found some rust issues that had been covered up with bondo, so I had it all fixed up. When I contacted the guy after it was fixed he had already moved on and bought another car.
Known issues/things it still needs:
1. New heater core. Current one is bypassed. Have new one, just needs to be installed.
2. AC doesn’t work.
3. Tranny has a leak. It’s not too bad when it’s warm, but gets worse when it sits over the winter when the seals shrink from the cold.
4. Minor paint bubbling behind driver’s side rear wheel.
5. Couple rips in front carpet.
6. Clock doesn’t work...perfect for Tick-Tock-Tach upgrade.
Included with sale (if wanted):
1. New heater core
2. Car cover
3. Misc interior/exterior screw kits
4. One old T3 headlight
5. Old water pump (can be rebuilt)
