1972 Olds 442 convertible for sale $15900 US dollars
First of all it's priced in Canadian Dollars, so equal to $15,900 USA Dollars! Hi all. I'm putting my 442 up for sale. It's an original W29 equipped Canadian delivered car with the GM Vintage Vehicle documents and lots of old paperwork to verify. Original 350 4bbl Rocket, 350 TH trans, PosiTrac 2:73, Duals, TicTocTach, white buckets, tint glass. FE2 Rallye suspension. Green with factory white stripe pack. I bought from family that owned it from 2 yrs. old. It's a solid car, but needs restoration or use as it is for a summer driver. Right rear quarter was damaged in 79. Fixed, but should be replaced. Frame is good, body is decent, interior good except carpets(orig.) Engine runs good, trans. shifts good. car drives like it should. Car is located in Ontario Canada, 1.5 hours from Pt. Huron Mich. and can be delivered to the border. Serious buyers send me an email to turbo1980ta@gmail.com

Intersting point about the stainless rocker trim. My 72 cutlass supreme has it and ive seen tons of 72 442 convertibles that have it as well. Ive also seen tons of 72 442s without it .Love the car btw. glws

Why do you think that exports to other countries would get specialized trim for the 442? Short answer is no. Only the non 442 Cutlass cars (coupe and sedans) got the moulding if it was part of their trim line. The 442 specifically removes the rocker stainless as part of the W29 (delete) package.

Sorry, about the post, I relayed what I was told and shouldn't have bothered posting since I didn't know the source or their knowledge.

Don't send amateurs to do a professional job. Sick and tired of no money whiners. If you 're looking to buy a 442 at 50% of value please move along.

Your data sheet also indicates that power brakes were not available with W29 option, I don't believe that is accurate.

So if you want to believe you know everything about a car built 50 years ago, go ahead.
Car has power brakes, as well as rocker moldings as delivered new. But you so called experts say it's not so. Please find someone else to bother.
Spend your time researching before you go online and think you an authority. Did you ever check export options? No you didn't.

Sorry to burst your internet bubble as an expert, but this is a 1972 Cutlass Supreme 442 built in Lansing MI and ordered and sold new in Ontario Canada.

Many 1972 442's had the stainless steel rockers from the factory. Even though the abysmal paperwork might have said otherwise. Many had power brakes also. Shows that a lot of the Olds paperwork belongs underneath a bird cage.

Well said. Oldsmobile didn't have its act together and 50 years old, it was a sh*t show when it came to these things. The armchair Olds experts who claim Olds didn't do this or that but in reality, yes, Olds did those things and released cars in real life that didn't match on paper. This coming from a GM division that LIED about losing records in a factory fire, only to cover up that they didn't keep good records and used a "fire" excuse to cover up their horrible record keeping. GM finally tired of the lackluster sales and bad management, stuck a knife in Olds in 2004 and put it to rest for eternity.
