1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Diesel 60K original miles
SOLD! Thank you!
Greetings! My co-worker has inherited his father's 1979 Oldsmobile. It's a 4 door sedan, Delta 88 in excellent original condition.
60,293 original miles. 5.7L Diesel V8 that runs well. Minor upgrades for dependabilty done by a diesel specialty shop (not hot-rodded, just slightly modernized).
Still starts with "wait to start" light and then fires right off.
While it holds some sentimental value, the owner would rather sell it than store it and let it sit for months at a time.
Minor trim piece loose on the Right Rear, the only flaw to the car. Very original and many, many more photos to share if you email me.
Located in West Point, NE 68788 and owner is asking $3,500 or best offer. please email me at jeffstellish@gmail.com for more information. Thank you! (P.S. appears in photos as white, while it's actually a very light shade of blue)

If the Diesel shop installed a water detector/separator and extra fuel and oil filters that might help this one survive well. It's already made it past the usual 30k-50k mileage window for crank breakage.😄
I like that Farmall H behind it too. Real tractors are RED, you know.😏

On Tractors, I like many kinds (I grew up on a farm and farmed with my family for many years). We had some John Deere (4630, 4640, 4840, A) as well as McCormick/Farmall Super A, B, 300, and IH 6788 among others. Later in my farming career we had changed to New Holland and ran a 1999 NH 8970, 2003 NW CR960 Combine and Kinze series planters with Case IH discs and tillage equipment. My personal favorite tractor brand is Allis-Chalmers, though, as I have an AC130 that I use for snow removal, even though I moved to town about 10 years ago.

An 80s Diesel Cutlass showed up at 2009 Nats and when it clattered into the show field a herd of people followed it to its assigned show space. We were like rats following the Pied Piper! That Cutlass was one of the few Diesel cars I ever remember at an OCA National meet.

Adventure Sport, if your potential buyer hedges due to buying gaskets for this motor, let him know there is an NOS complete GM set just posted on e-bay, this just might seal the deal for you. I can't remember the last time I saw NOS GM for the Olds Diesel 350.
Hope your sale goes through, great car.

the main question should be is it a D block or a DX block.the DX didn't come out til 80 and alot of the early ones that took a crap got a DX put in it.my god parents had a 78 that died and got a DX short block so it had the pencil injector heads on the DX block, man that car would lay rubber.

So was I, along with Joe P, Doug Kitchener, and Don and Ronny Ganshaw (the NC Olds Diesel family from earlier post).
When I heard it coming into the show field I quit looking at a 65 Starfire to follow it to its space. Told Kitchener come on, NOW. He listened, said his trademark "SOMBITCH!" and away we went to follow that clattering blue Cutlass sedan.
