This 1971 Oldsmobile 442 was purchased by the seller in 2014 and subsequently underwent a Pro-Touring style refurbishment with a repaint in gold, a Bill Trovato-built 496ci V8, and a Legend five-speed manual gearbox. The car also features a Currie 9″ rear end, suspension modifications, four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, power interior functions, a custom audio system, and a black vinyl roof. This 442 was completed approximately 100 miles ago and is offered with build records, a Protect-O-Plate, a copy of Oldsmobile V-8 Engines by Trovato, and a clean Delaware title in the sellers name.
The shaved and tucked engine bay is home to a replacement 455ci V8 enlarged to 496ci of displacement by BTR Performance of Rochester, New York. A dyno sheet in the gallery below shows peak output of 556 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque.
It's a NICE pro touring car!!

No, it's a triangulation bar from UMI. The theory behind it is that the front end of the A Body is very flimsy (which is a true fact). The factory uses the flimsy front bumper to tie & support the front end frame rails. In hard cornering, the A-Body front end frame will flex and move and provide poor handling. The UMI triangulation bar ties the front end frame rails together and provides rigidity in hard cornering.

I think the car was done nicely. Still holds the factory lines and interior. Looks like that body tag was added. I wonder if the VIN tag was removed as well. Even if it is just a Cutlass re-tagged (sketch) looks like a well built car. Those front end supports are truly crazy low. I see those scraping constantly. Other than that...

Auction closes in a few hours. I wonder if it will sell for $50k or more?
Only thing I would change is going to an auto trans like a 4L80E but that's just my personal take.

There are copies of the receipts and he has around $19k in the engine alone. Not even counting the labor to install.
I bet around $50k in aftermarket parts plus the labor to install. Plus the cost of the car itself. At $60k - $70k, it would be a good deal.

I think the car looks to have been done well. I still say replaced body tag is sketch. Supposedly have protecto plate etc but the body tag was replaced?? Not sure I understand that math.
