1971 Cutlass Supreme: guidance on removing rear window trim

1971 Cutlass Supreme .. I would like some guidance on removing my rear window trim. It needs re-sealed

There is only one way to remove the trim - get the correct tool. Slide the tool under the trim, snag the trim clip, and rotate the tool to release the clip. And once you get the trim off, expect to find rust, not just bad sealer.

There's a tool for releasing the trim clips, but you can usually make do with a putty knife. Plenty of videos on Youtube demonstrating how to release them.

What needs to be resealed? There's no seal for the trim, just the adhesive used for the glass. If the window is leaking, you're best off taking it to a glass shop to have it dealt with properly, and be prepared to deal with rust in the window frame...

??? How? You have to pull on the clip. Sorry, but just get the right tool.

There are different versions of that tool, I have one that is similar and works well that cost me about $13.00. Well worth it.

If you got the brand that I did be prepared for the rubber on the handles to slip somewhat, not affecting their efficiency but kind of irritating. I ran a drop of cyanoacrylate down between the handle and the grip.
