It's time to do my front end

1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass - BB/Auto no air
Well, I'm thinking and "A" body is an "A" body when it comes to front suspension parts. I need to replace original ball joints, a-frame bushings, springs, etc... The springs are the original SBO stockers, with 2 twist in spacers on each side.
I'd like to lift the front 1-1.5" to level the car up a bit. I'm also torn between just replacing the ball joints and bushings, or going with some tubular components.
What about the spring spacers like these:

Looking at these control arms:

I think the biggest problem you have is a BB with SB springs. You'll just have to check the spring charts for specs. I know AC springs will raise a SB car an inch or so. BB springs might be the same as HD suspension springs.
Those spaces will work OK if you need to, but I'd try to get as close as I could with different springs first.

I agree with all of the above, I'm looking to see what springs others have used. Perhaps a part#/ brand. Whether to go stock on the control arms or tubular and any problems associated with the tubular.
I looked up a moog pn 5272 for the springs. Also what year ranges are interchangable for a 1967. Can they be interchanged with say 1970's models?

I decided to go with stock replacement parts for the front end, since the originals have lasted 45 years!
But I'm caught between these 2 springs, which do you think would make the car sit higher?

I'm leaning towards the 5272
Btw the guy at moog could not answer this question. So I need some advice from the experts!

when i did my friends 66 442 front end last year, initially i had him order hotchkis sport springs, which drop it 1"... He didn't like the look, too low for his liking(of course he also has a cast iron tripower intake & ac components too), so we called fusik and asked what they recommeded for stock height & HD suspension... It was a moog spring, and it sits real nice (no pics unfortunatly, but he liked it. Decent gap between the tire & top of the wheel well w/o looking like a gasser.

remember that a BBC weighs nearly 200lbs more than a BBO (unless the BBC has aluminum heads) also... So you might order the 442 AC springs to compensate. If its too tall you can always cut a 1/4 or 1/2 coil to bring it down a little bit.

I think when I figured the weight difference, it was around 80#'s between the old 330 and the BBC. With the additional unsprung weight, it finally settled about 3/4" lower and is really spongy. Also I added station wagon springs to the rear, my goal is a stiffer ride and a bit more height.
Take a look at the difference in the 2 springs I linked to, IMHO I think the height will be the same, but the 5272 would be stiffer.
