Wrong motor mounts?

Hello Joe,
I have a 66 Oldsmobile Cutlass 4 door and had a mechanic replace motor and trans mounts and the 330 small block raises and the fan hits the shroud with the slightest torque...it happens when I'm turning either direction from a stop with not much acceleration at all. Could the mechanic put the wrong mounts in??? Thank you for your help.

I moved your post. This way you should get more folks to see it vs. resurrecting a 15 year old thread.

Did the fan move and hit the shroud before you took the car to the mechanic?

Hello Joe,
I mentioned the other day about mechanic probably putting wrong motor mounts in 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme because 330 small block moves under small amount of engine torque the fan blades hit the shroud with ease and have marred shroud. Can you please tell me what the proper engine mount is for this small block 330. I'm pretty sure i need engine mount #2261.
Thank you for your help and have a safe 4th of July with your family.
Jim

Assuming your car has the original frame pads, 2261 is the correct mount for ANY Olds engine in your car.

I know you already received the correct advice. If interested in reading a treatise on motor mount applications >>> Motor mount application list
