Any industrial engine experts in readerland?

Can anyone identify this engine block? I THINK it’s a small Caterpillar engine, maybe from a forklift or tugger?

Do you have the main bearing caps?
If not, then that block is scrap iron.

That would be a pretty big chunk of scrap iron.

The injection pump on my Common Rail cummins is on the drivers side, so is the injection pump on the older mechanical engines. I assume the large rectangular opening on the pass side would’ve for the injection pump?

My brother in law has the main caps, no clue if he numbered them. It’s his engine block, I just got roped into moving it. I have no clue what it is, he isn’t really sure either. Just curious what it is and how to identify it. I don’t see any casting symbols I recognize.

The injection pump mounts to the front cover and is driven by the timing gears.

If it's a Cummins diesel where are the 2 missing cylinders? Oh wait, nevermind!

I think you are correct. I found some pictures online of a bare block, it does look identical.
