Fish On 2023

GONE FISHING
Here is picture my 4.42 LB Walleye
Three people in the boat and I took 3rd place for the smallest of the TOO BIG to eat fish
Put her back into the lake to be fruitful and multiply and grow BIGGER
Of course my wife caught the 2 biggest fish ( so far this year ) and the biggest she caught in her life 26 Plus inches long... Those also went back into the lake.. We ate about 60 snack size ones while we were there Shore Lunch was GOOD
I think I gained about 10 pounds... LOL

Caught a bunch of football sized Small Mouth BASS and lots of Walleye
Managed to catch some to keep eat and a few in the freezer as a bonus
Spent about 40 hours out on the water right up to CANADA Border BWCA QUETICO Area
Not many people up that far
Tent Camp with a permit or Day Trip with a Motor Permit (Hard 2 Get and not many of those , WE got lucky)
Stayed in a cabin with indoor plumbing and electricity to keep "The Warden" happy

Dang, fish on, no neighbors, and indoor plumbing. It doesn’t get much better that that.

No radio TV or computer either. OH So peaceful. Neighbors included Eagles , Osprey , Loons and Otters with countless song birds as well... I plan on going back next year or sooner if I can...

Everyone should make at least ONE trip to the Boundary Waters in their life time.
I liked it so much that I moved to ELY and then worked for Dept Natural Resources. Was out on the water every day... That was many moons ago. Only made $3.35$ per hour LOL back then. Good Olds Days

Here is where we like to stay.. $129 per night gets you cabin and a boat. Not "fancy"
But over 20 miles from town and all the tourist folk there. Busy this time of the year.

Only been fishing in Minnesota once. Visiting family, and my dad and I hired a guide named Gary on Lake Vermillion and went walleye fishing. I caught 3, we picked up aunt and grandma, and the shore lunch was grand.
