A Toast to my uncle

To all those out there that will have a toast. Cheers to my uncle. He passed yesterday right after I visited him in the hospital. 96 years young.
CHEERS to him. Eugene Wentworth. 8 9 1927. He was an awesome man person Dad etc. Best woodworker you could ever imagine. He helped develop 35mm lenses for Pentax.

Cheers Gene 🍻

Thank you to everyone for your kind comments. He was my Mom's brother. I lost her in 1996. Gene was a great human being. We laughed and talked smack to each other yesterday. It was cool. He passed right after I left. Love your people. 🙏🍻

Thanks. It has been one hell of a year. My Brother Steve who people know on V8 Buick went to the hospital last week with what they thought was a heart attack. Turns out to be blood clots. He is home but still very weak etc.

Sorry to hear about your rough patch with family health. Sounds like your uncle lived a full life. Best of luck to your brother with his recovery.

Thanks man. Plenty of people here and on V8 Buick know my brother Steve very well. He is on full oxygen. Weak etc. He has never smoked. Drank. Done any drugs.

Been one hell of a year. I was so grateful that I was able to see my uncle before he passed. Thank you to everyone for their kind words.

Thanks to everyone. My uncle passing was heavy enough. He was my Mom's brother. She passed years ago.

Seeing my Brother Steve get blood cancer verified is killing me. I am the last of seven. Steve is sixth. We raised each other. Walking car knowledge guy. My entire life. He has owned so many bad *** cars. He has owned his 70 GS 455 since 1981. His 61 Catalina runs low tens. He is such a good person. This sucks.

Prayers for your brother

Just thinking about your life journey , it truly is a rough patch and they say god never gives you more than you can handle, I am thinking god has selected you to walk with your brother on his road, he will need someone to lean on and you have been selected , you were there for your uncle to ease his passing and reassure him that his life mattered and he will be remembered. It’s not an easy task, but you must now be there for Steve, I will say a prayer for both of you, and seek solace that god has chosen you to be there for him,

I am not a religious person in the normal sense but I do believe in God absolutely, I will share this with you which always gave me great comfort in hard times from from Psalm 62 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God , he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge
I hope it helps you as well God bless my friend

Oh gosh people. Tell people you love that you love them.
Last Thursday one of my oldest friends died in the shower.
Last night I was texting one of my best friends. Called him my youngest brother. I got no reply. I heard today that he fell in his house down the stairs. Smacked his head. He is gone now. Only forty years old. He survived Columbine. Peace to you Aaron 🙏🍻

Oh my gosh. This day has been so heavy. They kept him "alive" until today to come get his organs. I can't believe he is gone. Talked to him on my birthday. Life is no joke.

Toast to Aaron 😭🍻

So I post all this to try and help anyone else trying to deal.

I wanted to text Aaron about some things. I couldn't. He is gone. That can be a tough pill to swallow. One of my oldest friends died in the shower the Thursday before.

Love your people. Accept that you were blessed with this day and every day. Be good to people. Spread live not hate. Oldsmobile on...

Cool update to this post. My brother Steve is feeling strong so that's good.
I got a chance to get some things from my uncle Gene's home. Literally thousands of pictures. His daughter wants me to have his car too. Mercury Marquis in my future ha ha. So many cool pictures. I thought I would share a few.

Thanks Brother I appreciate your comments. It has been a hell of a run last couple years.
My uncle was one the original people behind the 35 millimeter lenses for Pentax. I am super happy to have ended up with so many of his pictures. He had a great long life. Wonderful human being.

Check this. I remembered this picture as a young young kid. I asked to have it. I got it. Turns out it was painted in 1830!!
