'67 442 hood? Crazy Money!
Okay, so a Craigslist guy has a '67 Turnpike he was making into a "tribute" 442. He's selling a 442 hood separately. I need a replacement hood for my Holiday as it has some rust issues under the nose lip.
I thought great, he probably wants a couple hundred bucks for this baby and it has louvers. Wrong! He wants $900 for it.
I have no intent for a tribute clone but kind of like the louvers. Could this simply be a basic hood that someone had louvers punched in? Are genuine 442 hoods worth this kind of money?

Wow, thanks for replies. No one added if these can be "faked" with a louver job. The fiberglass baby is sweet! I spotted a pin style and thought ... meh. Bolt on would be great and has bonus louvers too!! Bookmarked that baby.
I guess with this vintage, you can ask premium prices. But if it was a fake, I'd feel like an idiot.
