67 O rear rebuild
Looking to rebuild my original rear for my 67 442. 12 bolt cover/ 10 bolt ring gear. It was originally a 3.08 open rear. would like to beef it up… replace carrier, ring/pinion, axles… full build.
any suggestions on vendors for parts?
im running a 67 Chevelle rear currently but I would like to have correct rear back in someday.

Is this the standard 28 spline rear or the HD 31 spline rear?
Bearings and seals are readily available from most auto parts outlets.
Gears are very limited, with only 1 or 2 manufacturers and just a few ratios.
The only new carriers are Ford 8.8 units machined so O-Type gears will attach.
Axle shafts are available from the major manufactures. Just need to know what you currently have.
I would suggest contacting monzaz (Jim at JD Race.com) as he does this for a living and has knowledge of parts and availability.

no 3.23 or 3.08 or 2.78 or 2.56 ever came in 31 spline
only 28 spline carriers.
NOW that does not mean it can not be done. Jim
I do have al lthe parts on the shelf in stock for the rebuild and or gear swap for the 12 Bolt olds rear.
