Drive shaft

I’m swapping out my th350
for a 200 4r in my 1970 olds cutlass, does anyone know if I’m going to have to buy another drive shaft whether it be longer or shorter? Thanks..

You should not need a new driveshaft.

The same length should work. Alternatively, you could install the present shaft in the new trans, see how it looks for seated depth on the tail shaft and go from there. Lastly, you could install new trans and just do all the basic measurements that a driveshaft builder would work with.

I did the swap from my th350 to the 200-4R
no issues with existing driveshaft.

The 200-4R is the same overall length as the TH350. It uses the same driveshaft and same front yoke. The crossmember needs to be moved to the TH400 position because the 200-4R mount is further back. This requires you to change the front and intermediate e-brake cables to those for a TH400 application. That doesn't impact the driveshaft.
