j2

It means you have a decal that someone put on your air cleaner. The J2 option (tri-power) was not available until 1957. It was also available in 1958. Then it was discontinued. I don't think the 324 shares the same architecture as the 371 so I don't believe the tripower could have been retro-fitted. If it has tri-power it would be an after market Intake with after market carbs

J2 = The name Olds used to market its Three 2-Barrel carb option.
Tri-Power = The name Pontiac used to market its Three 2-Barrel option. It was never used by any other manufacturer.
Same engine, except for the increased bore and stroke, and the ¼" difference in deck height. The comparison is very similar to that of a 330 vs a 425.
Hard to "retrofit" a Pontiac manifold on an Olds engine.
J-2 manifold fits '57-'58 only, because of the differences in deck heights.
