Question Is it possible??

I finally got the car back today, turns out it was just the plugs. While the Delta was down there, I threw in my electric fan, and the sender for the oil pressure gauge (will hook the electrical part up over the weekend)

The bad news is the Delta has a 'knock' It's had this since I bought it last year, but I never knew what it was, now it's causing the oil pressure to drop below 5 to 7 psi and casuing the light to come on.

Anyway, I'm going to try to make it last until the end of the year before I drop that 350 Olds in, I only drove it 6000 miles last year. He says that the Delta is too heavy for drag racing and it will not be as fast as a Cutlass or other "G" body car.

With me in it and 1/4 tank of gas, the Delta tips the scales at 3990. I believe a "G" body sits in the 3600 lbs range.

What I'm looking for is a car no faster than 11.49 in the 1/4 mile. This way I don't have to put a cage in it. I want the Delta to be in the 12's maybe high 13's at the slowest, when finished.

I'm looking to drop a 395558 Olds 350 in there, perferaly a 1972, and some 5 heads. Probably do a Eledbrock RPM manifold and don't know what size carb. 3.42 posi rear, and a 700-rt tranny

Is it possible to do this? I'm not looking for an 8 second car, 12's will make me very happy. This is also going to be a slow process, If it takes me 5 years to get there,, that's fine

With the reseach I've been doing, it seems very doable for a reasonable amount, over time of course.

I've seen Impalas on the net running 11.6 with a 100 shot. I figure without spraying it should be running 12.6 to 13. The guy's got a 400 SBC with about 400 HP. Since the Olds motor has a lot more torque, it's very possible, as long as I do it right.

Any thoughts?
