1966 Headlight Switch Interchange

Hi Everyone
We have a 1966 Toronado Deluxe. The vacuum headlight door actuators have been replaced by electric ones.
So I no longer need the vacuum ports on the HLS and it has also started to fail.

Is there an aftermarket or GM (8) blade headlight switch that interchanges I can replace it with? Old's 98 maybe??
It would seem all E Body GM's from 66-67 are concealed headlights. Hoping for something else.
If I can find one, my last concern is if it comes with the shaft, because the Toronado one will be too long.

As always, I really appreciate your help.

You've sort of answered your own question. Yes, there are other GM headlight switches with the correct terminals, but as you note, they are shorter since they don't have the vacuum switch. This brings two problems, First, the original shaft will be too long. Second, depending on the arrangement behind the dash, the shorter switch may end up too close to the backside of the dash for clearance.

Glad you saw this Joe, I had sent you a PM last night.
As a new replacement switch will likely not be a 1966 E Body platform, what make, model & year switch would you recommend?

Also, there is plenty of room behind the dash and shorter would be better yet.
BTW, I learned the HLS was going bad from one of your responses in the archives regarding the relationship between, Panel, Parking light fuses and the HLS a couple of years ago. My HLS started blowing Parking light fuses.

Thanks for all your help.
Dave

The 1961-66 RWD headlight switch has the same terminal configuration, it just doesn't have the vacuum switch.

Delco D6251D or Standard Motor Products DS155. They fit nearly every GM from 1961-66.

Standard Motor Products DS155 is in stock at Napa Auto Parts for $15. They also have the shaft/stem with **** for $9. Picking them up tomorrow.
This should do the job Sir.
Thanks again for your help
