3rd headlight plug?

Never noticed 'till now that I have an extra plug behind both driver and pass headlights. Can't see it in the chassis manual diagram. Related to nightwatch option?

I think you have a 1972 CS? Not sure if night watch was an option but sounds like a good guess. I don't own a 1972 CSM but generally separate wiring diagram(s) are provided in the back of the CSM in the accessory section, have you looked there?
I believe side marker/turn signal/parking lamps are light blue (left) & dark blue (right) (with a black wire for each). The green colored wire appears different than the light green color used for the headlamp dimmer switch so I suspect it is not associated with the headlamps; also, the black wire contains a white stripe which is also dissimilar to either the headlamps &/or the side marker/turn signal/parking lamps. Check in the back of the CSM in the accessories section for a separate wiring diagram?

NiteWatch (RPO T81) was not offered on the A-body cars in 1972. It wouldn't have connected there anyway. Brown/Lt Blue wires are side marker light.

Yes, 72 Cut Supreme. Posted laaaaate last night! Pic is in the body of the post; didn't load for you no1oldsfan? Brown and gray wires seen at the bottom, going south off the screen are the side marker wires. Sounds like a common harness used in 88/98s with provision for side markers....

Again, on a 1972 Cutlass Supreme, brown and light blue are the wires for the side marker. The harness is NOT common to the B/C-body cars. The Supreme came from the factory with side marker lights. We are not talking about cornering lights here. Doesn't your car have side marker lights in the front fenders?

I erroneously stated Black Wire when in fact it's a Brown Wire. It was hard reading the wiring diagram. That's my excuse.

The LH park/turn/side marker wire is BLUE LT, the RH park/turn/side marker wire is BLUE DK.

Here is another pic with the side marker socket pulled up in view. My original pic I only pointed out the 2 wires going out of the shot to the side marker below. After cleaning overspray off the wires, I can see that the side marker wires are indeed light blue and brown. But the mystery socket/plug remains

Perhaps the wiring harness on your vehicle was from a different vehicle installed or spliced into via a previous owner or body shop i.e. front end collision or otherwise?

That is the turn signal/ parking light plug (the round light mounted in the front bumper). Is there currently a front bumper on the car?

You mean the plug which was never shown in the first image? That was a goose chase.

No, the one that wasn't shown in the first photo, only the wires going to it, was for the side marker which I pulled into view for the second photo. The original plug in both was for the front bumper turn signal lights

Exactly, the plug in the center of both photos is the one we are talking about.
