This is what to do for a 68. I think the wiring harnesses are the same. Make sure you read this whole post. The Rallye Pac wiring diagram in the 68 FSM is WRONG (not that you'd look at that one anyway)

Look on the top of page 15-32 of the 69 CSM pdf I'm attaching. It shows which pins to what. http://wildaboutcarsonline.com/membe...ection_15B.pdf

Here is a picture that I have. The harness is the same for '68 and '69 with regards to what plugs into the gauges. Another thing that should be done in converting idiot lights to gauges is that the "check circuit" wire be disconnected so you don't ruin your new temp gauge.

On a '69, the "check circuit" wire is green, comes down the steering column from the ignition switch with several other wires, and plugs into a harness under the dash. All you have to do is extract that green wire out of the harness and tape it off to disable the "check circuit".

With idiot lights, when you turn the key on, the temp light also comes on. After the car is started, the temp light goes off. If you convert to gauges without disconnecting the "check circuit" wire, when you put your key in the "on" position, your temp gauge needle will peg. Once you start the car, the temp needle will go back to normal operation. Peg that temp needle too many times and it will eventually ruin your temp gauge.
