I believe the front frame horns are spread more on 66-7 frames for the new cross-flow radiator that replaced the top and bottom tank 64-5 radiator. 67 Frame went to rear springs with pigtails at the top instead of tangential ends up top, so the spring pockets in the cross member are different. 67 also added a longer stamped flat area with additional holes so the tranny cross member could be shoved farther back for the Turbo 400 trans.

Wasn't there a couple inches difference on the rear-end housings meaning difference in frame width??

The 1965 442 had a frame specific to the 442 and manual transmission Cutlass/F85 that year. If you want to make it original you'll need to track one of those down. If not, the 4 door frame is the same a 2 door Cutlass/F85 in 1965 which would be easier to find. I've got one of each that may be available, what part of the country (or even world) are you located in?

Hey guys. I'm new to this board and apologize if this is hijacking. I also need to know the same thing. I have a 67 cutlass (442) with a soft frame and also wonder what to search for? I was told chevelle is the same??? Any help is appreciated. Need to get this project started. If anyone knows of any decent ones available let me know as well. Taa442 if that 66 won't work for you would you be willing to part with it?

I'm located in Ottawa, Ont. Canada. But have trailer and willing to travel.

Why don't you guys post where you are located? It's not like some of us are going to look you up to rip you off or anything.

Thanks for all the replies.I live in Ohio.So I am gathering that the 66-67 frame I have available won't work on the 65.My friend is retiring from his shop and has many parts that he is selling off.He has a few of the 66-67 frames available that are very nice.Is there anyone close with a 65 frame? My friend is asking $500-$1000 depending on the quality and chassis parts to go along with it.Thanks,Tim

Hey Tim. I sent you a PM to get ahold of one of those frames. Ohio isn't too far of a haul for me. And that's probably the first thing I should buy to get started. Thanks in advance for your help

HI.Thanks again for the help.It was correct,I was able to compare the two and sure enough, the 66-67 are different at the frame horns than the 65.I replied to the private messages but do not know if they were received. My friend still has a couple of the 66-67 frames for sale.Depending on overall condition he is asking $500-$1000.I still will need a65 frame.I live in OhioThanks again,Tim TAA442@aol.com
