Question Column Shifter to Floor Shifter

I own a 69 Cutlass S with a 455CI and TH400 auto trans. I really want to go from the tree shifter to the floor, any price estimates on this conversion? As well as what will be involved or things I might not being thinking are involved. Thanks

To do it properly gets expensive. You'll need seats, console, shifter, speedo, shift cable & steering column to get started.
Keep your eye on your local CList to see if any of this stuff pops up.

Floor shift steering column non tilt $75.00-$150.00, with tilt, $300.00-$450.00.
Bucket seats, rebuildable cores, $150.00-$400.00.
New seat covers & having them installed, $300.00-$500.00.
Or, buying nice restored seats ready to go, $600.00-$900.00
Console & shifter & cable & wiring harness, $100.00-$350.00.
Bucket seat floor brackets, $40.00.
Floor shift speedo, $25.00-$50.00.
Trans. pan cable brackets $40.00.
All prices are close estimates.
You can save a few bucks by just removing the shift lever from the column when you do the conversion & also just leave the column shift speedo there too.
If you want correct parts, you'll need bucket seats from 1969-72. Those had the seat back release in the back, the '68 versions have it on the side.
Not cheap for sure, but you can find some deals now & then. We have a few sets of bucket seats if you do make the change.

The first question you need to answer is do you want a totally stock conversion, or an aftermarket floor shifter?

Once you go to the bucket seats your lady friend(s) won't be able to snuggle up against you when you go places...

I am not looking to go stock by any means, My car is far from stock, I have a 70 hood on my 69, and a 455 from a 73. so not stock is quite fine. And I really do enjoy my bench seat(especially because of the lady friend) but taking corners can be a not so enjoyable time.

If that is the case & what you are trying to address some newer buckets seats out of another type of car would probably suit you better. The stock buckets aren't all that supportive.
In that case you can hit up a junk yard & see what you like & check Summit for a shifter.

How about a fold down armrest bench seat...best of both worlds.

I just found this picture on Cardomain and This would be quite convenient but Im not sure how this would work on a 69 or if the Shifter would be at least some what comfortable to use. I am a big guy and I am 6'1" so My arm length is up there so would I be able to reach the shifter? Also the one pictured is the one im looking for.
