Exhaust manifolds

Anybody have any experience with the Thornton repo W Z exhaust manifolds for the big block 455 ???

Lots of us have used them including me. They are great, and I have never heard a negative comment.

Is there any advantage to the Thornton reproduction W/Z exhaust manifolds in comparison with OEM W/Z manifolds?

Yes, the Thornton's manifolds are readily available at a decent price. If you look for OE manifolds you run the chance that the owner will want an arm and a leg for them since they are original parts. Plus, OE manifolds might be damaged.

The real benefit is that originals will be badly pitted from rust. The repros will not.

Thanks for the information. I was thinking that Thornton might have had improved the flow characteristics.
