Exhaust Trumpet Hanger Question on 72 Cutlass

Having a problem trying to get the Trumpets (442 Bumper) on my 72 Cutlass to line up properly. I bought the entire 2.5" Stainless Steel Exhaust system from Pypes, but the Hangers near the tips are not lining up. Anybody have any pictures or suggestions? I know there has been a lot of talk about how far the trumpets come out from the bumper, but if I can get some opinions I would be grateful. Happy Memorial Day to all you Veterans and Thank You for your Service..

Patrick

I bought a kit from pypes as well, and the tailpipe hangers that came with my kit didn't look like they were going to line up either. I ended up buying some hangers from Fusick for the trumpet exhaust, and they look like they will work. I haven't installed my exhaust yet tho. Hopefully some others will chime in here

Ok thanks Shane. I looked at Fusick's 48C catalog and didn't see them, but I will call tomorrow.

Oh Shane I forgot to ask about the X-Pipe. The x pipe has an arrow on it and the instructions were saying it should face forward ( guess towards the front of the car) which I would think they would face the arrow in the direction of the exhaust flow. I already assembled everything, but didn't welding anything yet. I don't remember if there was an arrow on the other side of the x-pipe and which way that was facing. But as of now the arrow is facing the rear of the car as it is up on a lift looking up at it.. Thanks for any help.

Dah, now I see the brackets on page 53 (part # TPH702) for my 72 Cutlass w/the 442 bumper cut outs and trumpets.. I wish they had the part number next to the pic so I could see if it was different from the hanger I got from Pypes.

Here ya go. The one on the left is the hanger i got from pypes, and the one on the right is from Fusick. the one from Fusick bolts to the bumper bracket and not the frame like the pypes one.

On the arrow on the X pipe, I mocked mine up on the floor and had it the same as you, and then read the instructions and noticed the same thing. I guess i'll point it in the direction that they say? lol

Hey n/p! i was worried that once i received the ones from Fusick, that they'd be the same as the ones i got from Pypes, but i took a chance. Are the ones that you got from Pypes the same as the ones they sent me?

Fusick's is really good about returns though, i've returned a lot of stuff and never had a problem, they always credit my credit card.

Yes i have heard they are, but living in Canada, shipping gets complicated. I have stuff shipped to a "mailbox" in the US, and then drive down and pick them up.
