First local car show with my Olds
I saw a sign posted on a telephone pole last week advertising for a local car show put on by the lions club. I've heard it is a pretty good turn out so I thought I'd attend and check out the local automobiles and any Oldsmobiles too. It was a spectacular day, 75 degrees and clear sky. Around 320 cars attended.
I appreciate all cars and like to see the outstanding workmanship and detail. Some paint jobs and overall restorations are really impressive no matter what car. I saw the post also of the car show in CT yesterday also which was the NE Olds club. I would like to have gone to that but a bit far for me. There were some beauties there judging by the pics.
There were a handful of Oldsmobiles at my show and I'll post. I also snapped some shots of real nice paint jobs and engine bays. I got a trophy for top 50 cars. A 340 six pack took home best of show.
Met the owner of this car and his son. The father bought this car brand new and did one re-paint years ago and a timing chain, thats it.
Pretty nice example. Buckets, auto on column.
Love the paint
Another Olds
Look at this beast
This car won best of show
Lot of room in there.....
A lot of motor

Very good! Being in the top 50 of 320 cars puts your car in the top 15%!
I attended a Top 50 car show some years ago where only 47 cars showed up. When it came time for the awards, it was very simple. The announcer said for everyone to come up to the podium and get your trophy. Nobody went away sad that day!

Congrats on your win. There are some really nice cars there and more Oldsmobile that you typically see. Seldom do you see a first generation Charger there and they had two. Thanks for taking the time to post these photos.

Looks like a nice bunch of cars. Those first Gen Chargers are really nice. If the Dodge designers hadn't jacked up that roofline, the early cars would be as desirable as the '68-'70 models. I've also grown to appreciate the early Mavericks. They were a joke back in the '80's but when you take the time to study the design, they're actually not bad. Interiors still stink - as do most Ford's.
That Challenger looks nice but I wouldn't have voted for it for best in show based on your pictures. Your car looks great. That blue is stunning.

Right on. Thanks for sharing. Plenty of nice cars there. That red 70 442 looks like a very example. Interesting color on that 69 442. Kind of an orangish-yellow?
I too was thinking the same thing about seeing Maverick's starting to pop up. Good to see them get some love. My Mom bought a 70 Maverick new. Orange with a black interior.
