I know, I know. Last reply to this thread was in April. But I've been "covid laid off" from my part time job in a repair shop because I'm 72 and at high risk and I have NOTHING to do. Being 72 with nothing to do is dangerous, ask my wife.
Anyway, I was browsing through some Olds websites that I belong to or subscribe to and I checked into the Eastern Mass GMO site to see what was going on. I've been a member for a while and even won a plaque at one of their shows. Never knew what GMO meant! So I started googling it and I ended up back here on this thread! 68-RKO with Dale Dorman started out in the late 60's and blew away WBZ and WMEX in the "young listener" market in a few years. BZ turned to all news.

Not 100% sure, but I think it was. I lived in upstate New York in the '60s and '70s, and I seem to recall it.

I listened to WBZ many years ago via my 8 transistor radio.

I believe the GMO was a regional campaign..during mid 70s olds markets y76 cars with special features, and let the regions give it their name and unique touches..one feature was chrome sport mirrors..

I do not know if it was nationally or not, but in Dallas area it was "The Bold Men of Olds". Even sold cars with special trim and emblems.

Heh. I was listening to WBZ coming back from town around 9 last night- ON THE VA-NC BORDER! Gotta love an AM clear channel station at night. No Olds commercials though.

WCBS 880 comes in clear here from around 5pm thru dawn. Yah, not much but sports, news and talk on most AM now, but once in a while you find music. If the night weather is just right I can pick up CFZM 740 Toronto, which is what AM radio used to be like.

Sure, I could stream it, but what's the fun and magic in that?

I don't remember the commercial, but it brings back memories. In 1969 my family had a 69 Olds Vista cruiser with AM radio from Washington Street Motors, Hudson Mass [ Governor Paul Cellucii 2nd sold cars there]

WBZ 1030 AM was our main radio station for music and news.

We were an Oldsmobile family.
