Putting an acetylene tank, propane tank, or any other flammable gas tank in an enclosed vehicle is crazy. I don't even do it with my grill tank. I always take my pickup and put it in the bed, strapped down (standing up if possible)

Very hard to believe he was in there and had such little harm done...

He violated the basic rule of any kind of gas - if you smell it, do not activate anything electrical! He lucked out on the locks, but switching the ignition on to open the windows activated the car's electronics, and who knows what else (note the windshield wipers are up).

As was said on another website, It looks like the passenger compartment was aired out pretty well, but looks like all the gases were in the door panels and such. Otherwise I would guess he would be a goner.
