Local forums?

Hey everyone, not sure if this is the right place or not. I was wondering if this site has separate local forums that are divided up by states or regions? Many other different car forums I am on have 'local forums' where all from specific regions or states can get together and chat about what's local etc. Im from Columbus, Ohio and was curious if anybody else on here is local as well. Thanks.

Yes we do, it's in the Social groups area, link provided below. If you click on your site name in the top righthand corner then click on Social Groups. I don't know how many are still active.

This is an area of the site where members have some control of content. Texas members had formed a group years ago, it hasn't had any activity for a long while.

Interesting. I see a Montana one. I wonder if state or regional is better?

Wow, surprising that area is not more active. Not sure who is in charge, but id suggest an area in the main forum area that is called 'Regions', and have sub categories where members can click on their region or state and interact with more local people there. Its a good place for regional meet ups, car shows, and get to know others who are local to you.

The forums cannot isolate who can or who wants to see what is posted in a Regional system because everyone will see a new thread notification whether they live in that region or not. You might as well start a thread in the Clubhouse forum. This is why the Social Groups is better, people can join that sub-group and be the only ones viewing the information.

I doubt many (any?) of us current forum users were aware that section existed.
