I'm fully aware that many can't understand German, but I think the General drift gets across. I may be bilingual, but due to time constraints (& just not feeling like it!) I probably won't translate it.

LOL
well the 5/8 @ssed translation would be better than me writing in German, I don't remember much past ,"my name is" . You think the tech college I went to would've had German classes since we are a very German area, but now I am getting off topic
Congrats again

I would just hope that goodoldsguydougie repeated a phrase from an old movie he once saw without knowing what he said or what it implies. My dad was posted at 4-wing in France from 1959-1963 and I learned to walk and talk there. It was about 8 km from the German border and we always went into germany to go camping. My parents made friends with a German couple and even though they spoke different languages they would get together often to play bridge. even after moving back to Canada they always exchanged christmas cards and letters. One of our neighbours here had been posted to Germany and married a German girl so she always translated. Today only the wives survive but still send cards. German people are are warm and hospitable and they seem to love coming over to Nova Scotia to buy land and build summer homes around lakes here. I have run into a few since my camp is on an island at waterloo lake and one complete side of the lake is German owned. Cool people but they don't get over enough.

I wondered why you took such a stance on this issue. It looks like you need to be carefull over there and could end up in trouble. We hear it every day on the history channel. I googled the word and came up with this. We take The good old USA and our freedom of speech for granted and maybe shouldn't.
Today in Germany, using the greeting in written form, vocally, and even extending the right-arm without the phrase are forbidden.[1] It is a criminal offense punishable by up to three years of prison (StGB, section 86a).[2] The same is true for expressions that might be mistaken for "Sieg Heil". Usage for art, teaching and science purposes is exempt from punishment.

Freedom of speech has it's limits , for example you would not want to go into an african-american neighbourhood and start using the "N" word especially if you are white. To me it should not be used by anyone at all.

Getting back to the article, I was well impressed to learn that your car came equipped with a 2-Rohr-Auspuffrohr and a 4-Gang-Schaltgetriebe...
Seriously though, congrats on the article, that's pretty cool!

Been to Germany twice both very nice times. Heck people dont know jack about much of what they spout off about. I was worried about all the rude French people when in Paris. Never noticed any ! Been there twice also.
