Apparently Dick and Stan were legit insiders with Oldsmobile back in the day, and the olds emblem/ logo that we are all so fond of evolved from the (circa) 1960 Lincoln continental star.

Also, the guy behind Rare Classic Cars & Automotive History is a worthy watch on YouTube.
