What brand battery with r-59 battery topper?
In an effort to keep things looking factory stock I picked up a r-59 fake battery topper.
I've compared the terminal post holes spacing with 2 batteries and they don't line up,they are off by about 1/8th to 3/16th inch.
I've compared the topper to Interstate brand and Advance Auto brand batteries.
What brand battery are you using with your r-59 battery topper that has perfect terminal post alignment and spacing?
thank you

What the heck...
"The Battery Topper is a simple plastic top that sets over an AC Delco or Sears 24 Series maintenance free, smooth surface, top post battery."
"What are the dimensions of a AC Delco 24/60 Series Battery?"
The dimensions are as follows:
Length: 10 3/16"
Width: 6 11/16"
Height: 8 3/16"
"Where are the posts located on a AC Delco 24/60 Series Battery?"
The dimensions are as follows:
Center of terminal post to center of terminal post: 8 1/4"
Top edge of battery to center of terminal post: 1 1/2"
Side edge of battery to center of terminal post: 1 1/2"
"What are the dimensions of a Battery Topper?"
The dimensions are as follows:
Length (Left to Right): 10 1/2"
Width: 7"
Height: 3/4"
I have to go measure my battery now to see if one will fit.

Bluevista,
thank you,you are a wealth of knowledge
During my travels today I discovered a Sears Diehard has the correct terminal spacing. I was thinking I'd probably end up getting a Diehard and painting the sides of the battery,to cover the lettering.
I see in the website, they mention Sears batteries.
I like the idea of an AC Delco battery under the Delco topper better. With the AC Delco name on the side I won't even worry about painting it.
Sorry to hear it won't work with yours. I upgraded my battery tray to the larger style for the 455 cars.
btw...I can see where a steel tape and battery terminals don't mix well

a follow up pic or 2
Finally finished this small project, wanted to show a pic.
It's a tight fit putting the larger style battery in there, but works.
Decided on using the AC Delco battery.
Well not really finished, tried using a battery mat under the battery to absorb leaking acid and it will not fit with the current bolt,to short.Need to find a longer bolt so the threads of the bolt will engage the tray with the added thickness of the mat.
