wheels on the 88
out of curiousity, trying to think through some of my plans, here. when i get the delta, i wanted to put certain wheels on it. i dont remember what they are called, so ill show a pic to example. if they are 15x7 (I THINK), would 235 or 245 profile tires be ok to put on for the back?

those are what I believe, are Rally SS1's 
As far as your 235/245 question, both should fit, you can even run up to a 255 on the rear. But the true width will depend on your aspect ratio... 235-60 (or65, 70etc)-15. The lower the middle number, the smaller the sidewall, and the wider the tire.

i was thinkin 245 60 15. thats what a friend of mine is runnin on his firebird rears and he said i should be fine, his rears are 15x7, too. thanks for the reply, that sounds right for the name of the wheel. now i just gotta find some, lol, they seem hard to locate.

You can probably find other suppliers. I guess price is going to make the difference. If you buy used for cheap (say 30 bucks each) you'll probably pay what these cost to get them restored. You can get these in a whole range of sizes (14,15, 16, 17 inch etc) too. Note, they even sell center caps and lugs so you'll have a perfect set. Depends really on what you want. Good luck with your project.

Yeah, these are usually pretty easy find. Especially if you have any local BOPC (Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Cadillac) clubs or shows. Just ask around, somebody always knows someone who has a set. 
245/60s look nice on Cutlass'. If you want to go a little wider, I've seen 255/60/15s on them too, but it's personal preference.

yeah i know 255's should work, but i found the 245s for cheaper. actually the difference in price isnt too much different, few bucks. guess we'll see how i feel when i get the car lol

I run 255/60/15s on my 77 Delta w/ the SS3 wheels on all 4 corners, and have no probs with rubbing. I think that the 235 and 245s look a little too small on the bigger cars. I am soon gonna replace them with some 22"s, but there goes that personal preference thing again.

True!! I'm looking for some wheels that will keep it looking nostalgic, but with a 21st century update. Probably gonna leave the lips of the wheels chrome and have the centers painted red like my factorys.

Those are not SSI wheel, those are Buick Sport wheels. *Not* because of the Buick emblem. The spokes are narrower an flat compared to the wider and rounded Olds SSIs. SSIs were never made with a bolt pattern for the big cars, whereas Buick *did* make their Sport wheels for big cars too.
