broken license plate frame - any way to recast this?

I got my hands on a pot metal license plate frame from a local Olds dealership. It is cracked / broke in two places. Is there any way to recast this piece? I read here a while back someone was recasting dealer trunk emblems and thought maybe this could also be recast?

Thanks
tim

If not worth that kind of money/effort, you could always try JB Weld.

Do you have any jewelry manufacturers in your area? They can make a rubber mold of your frame. They will need to keep the two halves together some how and might also requires some additional finish work on the front side to hide the crack.

The emblems you were mentioning were done in RI. There are lots of jewelry manufacturers there. Just to be clear not a one off jewelry maker but a manufacturer who can make molds are pour material.

they sell AL repair rod which can be used with a propane torch even. Weld together, smooth and finish to suit. Your item may be zinc die cast, I am not sure if this rod works on that, but would be easy to find out.

Maybe consult your local pro welding shop, see what they say?
