Cooling fan clutch

Cooling fan clutch
Over the Thanksgiving holiday we had the 442 out for a drive and I find that the fan clutch seems to make quite a bit of noise while driving. I do not know if it is thermostatically controlled or not at this point. It appeared to be engaged the complete drive. The car is currently covered and I do not remember if it has the spring type temp control in the center or the clutch., but the fan does spin freely with engine shut down, so I know the clutch is not seized.
What fan clutch do you guys recommend for a 69 442 with the 400 CID engine. The car does have AC.
Thanks in advance

Thanks again Eric
What we were hearing was definitely fan noise. Before I swapped to electric fans on my Camaro, it had metal non clutch fan and it had the same sound. I'll pick up a Hayden next week.

My Hayden 2747 runs loud too
I've been playing with 6 and 7 blade 18 and 19" factory fans in my Starfire for a couple of years.
So far what I've found is that the 2747 is noisy with the 7 blade 19" fan and the Hayden 2765 with an 18" runs quieter but hotter.
In my 66, the 4 core rad sits not even an inch from the 2747 due to the length or or depth of the 2747 heavy duty fins.
Since my motor is running very cool after a hose, thermostat and coolant swap, I'm about to put the 2765 and 6 blade back in to see if I like it.
