Help with Headlight Adjuster & Mounting Kit!

Hi guys!

Will change my complete front headlamps, housings, bezels...

Some parts are missing and would like to have some tips and pics if possible of how to mount the Headlight Adjuster & Mounting Kit (pic attached).

I searched in the factory and assembly manuals, but only found detailed plan of headlights assembly.

So if you have pics of how the kit (nuts, screws, springs, rivets...) is installed, it would be great!!

Thanks a lot for your help!!

Easy:

Each headlight bucket gets two nylon adjuster nuts, and each nut is retained to the core support by two pop rivets (you could use nuts and bolts if you prefer).

Each nylon adjuster nut has one steel adjuster screw screwed into it (so two screws per headlight bucket).

Each headlight bucket has one retaining spring to hold it to the core support.

I have no idea what the four nuts, bolts, and washers are for.

Look at the core support. You will see holes that correspond to the holes for the nylon nuts in two locations behind each bucket: one at 12:00, and one at either 3:00 (on the left side of the car) or 9:00 (on the right side of the car) - that is one on top and one on the outboard side.

The spring will go between the headlight bucket and the part of the core support that is opposite where the two nuts are.

There are holes in the corresponding parts of the headlight buckets and the core support for the springs to hook in, and there are tabs on the outer edges of the headlight buckets for the grooves near the tops of the screws to fit into.

The final effect is one of the springs trying to pull the headlights inboard and down, and the screws trying to pull the headlights outboard and up. In this way, by adjusting the screws, you can aim the headlights.

Note that each of the headlight buckets is different from all of the others, no two are interchangeable:
Two buckets are right-handed and two are left-handed.
Two buckets have grooves for headlight bulb indexing tabs that correspond to highbeam bulbs, and two have grooves that correspond to low beam bulbs.

Great directions! I was thinking the springs were riveted on to the core support in some applications, perhaps explaining the supplied screws and nuts.

That could be. It's been years since I've taken this sort of thing apart, and I couldn't possibly remember which make retained its springs which way anymore.

I ordered a completed set from Year One and they assembled the left the same as the right side. Had the WTF moment when the adjusting screws didn't line up with the notch in the headlight housing on LH side. 4 rivets later problem solved.

I though of that but they are stamped RH TOP and LH TOP. It was one of those times where you get a assembled part and you go, Well they assemble them for a living so I must be wrong In the end I just broke down the LH side to make it match the notches for the adjusting screws.

I thought that you would have thought of that, but sometimes simple things are over looked...glad it is working for you.
