Repro Disc Brake Proportioning Valves for my '72 Olds

These new repro Disc Brake Proportioning Valves appear to be brass. Is this correct? Would the threads not strip fairly easy, especially when using S/S lines?

Would it be better to rebuild the factory Proportioning Valve? I am assuming they are cast iron?

Brass isn't correct, don't know how the brass threads handle stainless fittings.
I was in a hurry and got a brass one, it works okay but I don't like the way it looks.
I eventually want to get my old iron one rebuilt or get a rebuilt one, it leaks fluid around that button on the end you hold in when bleeding the brakes.
Supercars Unlimited has a valve rebuilding service and sells rebuilt iron valves with an exchange if they have it in stock.

Prop valves on newer cars are brass, as are the distribution block for drum brake cars from the 1960s, and there are no problems with fittings or strength.

ok, so they are originally cast iron and correct. Brass is the newer thing and 'should' hold up thread strength wise... but is NOT correct b/c it is brass. tx

I sent an original to Karps for a rebuild. I think it was $70.
