Correct Screws for rear of seat ash tray? 74 Salon
All- looking for 'correct' screws to mount the ashtrays in the back of my front seat. Long story short- years ago i had the seats redone..turned out nice, but I didn't notice at the time that the ashtrays were never put back in. After several years (smoked when i bought the car, had quit by the time i redid the seats!) I realized it, and found new ones, without the screws. My guy said he'd put them back in, but I want to have the screws. I'm guessing they're fairly standard chromed screws, but I want to make sure they're the right ones.. Appreciate the help.

I'd remove a screw from the front ash trays and match it up at the hardware store. Even for a Cutlass you'll be forced to look at cars in a salvage yard if you want OE hardware for a concours restoration.

The other 3 ashtrays don't have screws..2 in armrests and one in dash. Unfortunately, the 74 and 75 Salons and 4drs were the only Olds that had them, afaik.
search for the part #9876569 showed them on some newer chevy vans or trucks i think.
I'm hoping someone will see a similarity to another screw-mount ashtray and provide a screw type.. I know hardware stores have a decent selection of automotive screws, and i figure I'll end up going there.
While I'd like to think my car is nice, it's nowhere near, nor will it ever be, a concours resto. I try to drive it regularly, and hope to make OCA Nats if I can find the right tires at a reasonable cost.
Thx for the input..
